Abstract

MAS SARABIA, Maheli; GOMEZ MERINO, Mercedes  and  GARCIA-ROCO PEREZ, Oscar. Diet and its relevance in dental caries and the periodontal disease. AMC [online]. 2005, vol.9, n.1, pp. 132-141. ISSN 1025-0255.

An update bibliographic review of thirty documents was carried out; it dealt with the etiopathogenic relationship that diet has with the two oral health problems most important in odontology; dental caries and periodontal disease to widen the knowledges in the dental personnel about the topic. It was emphasized the need of modifying unhealthy diet styles of population in relation to oral and general and intensify the educative  work to prevent in the community its  incidence by dietetic control and oral hygiene and promote a healthy diet our patients.
