Abstract
ARDILA MEDINA, Carlos Martín and GUZMAN ZULUAGA, Isabel Cristina. Periodontal plastic surgery using a bilaminar technique and allodermic matrices. AMC [online]. 2010, vol.14, n.6, pp. 1-5. ISSN 1025-0255.
Background: the coverage of gingival recessions has been a frequent therapy in periodontics. The bilaminar technique that includes a connective graft has shown predictable results in the long term, nevertheless, many patients present multiple recessions that require treatment and the anatomy of palate can limit the amount of autogenous weave that is needed, restricting the number of procedures that can be made. Patients who do not wish to have an additional graft transplant obtained from palate, due to the increase of the associated pain and the morbidity with multiple surgical procedures exist. The use of dermal allograft resolves this situation and represents an abundant resource of material for cases that require large amounts of graft tissue. This article presents the report of two cases of patients with little band of attached and keratin gingiva, in addition to multiple recessions. In the first case a bilaminar technique is made and in the second an allograft of acelular dermal matrix was made.
