Abstract
RUIZ SALVADOR, Ana Karelia et al. Actividad espasmolítica de una tintura de Melissa officinalis L. en modelos experimentales. Rev Cubana Plant Med [online]. 2004, vol.9, n.3, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1028-4796.
Three experiments were made aimed at validating the spasmolytic activity of Melissa officinalis L. described by popular medicine. The first in vitro, consisted in the evaluation of the response of Melissa to the contractions induced by different spasmogens in ileum isolated from guinea pig. An in vivo experiment evaluated the intestinal transit in mice, whereas a model of diarrheas in rats was applied in the other. Ethanol was used as menstruum in all models. Papaverine was used as positive control. Melissa officinalis proved to have an antispasmodic action in the 3 studies conducted.
