GALA VIDAL, Héctor et al. Risk factors associated with low birth weight in a Venezuelan community. MEDISAN [online]. 2010, vol.14, n.2, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1029-3019.
A cases and controls study was carried out, to identify some risk factors of the low birth weight in the Ma´vieja community, belonging to San Francisco municipality, Zulia state, Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, from January, 2005 to August, 2006. The poor nutritional evaluation of the pregnant women constituted the risk factor of higher incidence, followed by the vaginal infection, so the modification of these factors would have a favorable impact in the decrease of the low birth weight in the mentioned community.
