Abstract
Suicidal behavior and its relationship to psychosocial risk factors . MEDISAN [online]. 2010, vol.14, n.8, pp. 1054-1060. ISSN 1029-3019.
A case-control study was carried out in patients with suicidal behavior, belonging to the "Carlos M. Ramírez Corría" Teaching Polyclinic of San Luis municipality during 2007 in order to determine psychosocial risk factors influencing significantly in this behavior. The study group was formed by 18 patients, and the control group by 36 patients. Factors such as feeling of hopelessness and guilt, major depression, hostility, and impulsiveness, history of suicidal attempt, lack of family and social support, as well as suicidal threat or project had a significant casual relationship to suicidal behavior, but not family suicidal history.
