Abstract

LOPEZ RODRIGUEZ, Abrahán Segundo. Water supply model with heuristic weighing parameters. RIHA [online]. 2012, vol.33, n.2, pp. 81-90. ISSN 1680-0338.

Water management is becoming more interesting every day worldwide. The use of computer tools has allowed the use of complex methods for water management although sometimes they can be impractical due to lack of data and conditions for their implementation. For this reason a linear programming model has been studied for water supply in a complex system by means of heuristic coefficients. The proposed model aims to optimize the simultaneous delivery of water from a set of different sources taking into account the variability of its quality, spatial location and temporal distribution of their flow as well as incorporating the degree of difficulty derived from topographic irregularity and energy availability to deliver water to the consumption centers.

Keywords : linear programming; water supply; optimization.
