Abstract

FRAGOSO SANDOVAL, Lucio; ROBERTO RUIZ, Jaime; FLORES, Zurvia  and  JUAREZ LEON, Arturo Bruno. System to control and manage drinking water network of two towns of México. RIHA [online]. 2013, vol.34, n.1, pp. 112-126. ISSN 1680-0338.

In this work a project is described to develope a geographical information system (GIS) for spatial and non-spatial information management as related with the operation of a potable water distribution network. This allows to manage, evaluate and distribute potable water of good quality as well as the automatization of the system in order to implement and develop procedures in the near future to reach the technological vanguard. This GIS was applied in two housing units of the Tehuacan city, Puebla State, Mexico, in which computational tools allows the user to visualize and carry out operations with the information of the data base generated by GIS. Hydraulic calculations were realized through EPANET software, which provided reliable results and a good system design.

Keywords : control and management; drinking water network; geographical information system.
