Abstract

BROWN MANRIQUE, Oscar; GALLARDO BALLAT, Yurisbel; CORREA SANTANA, Amaury  and  BARRIOS GARCIA, Sergio. Climatic change and its evidence in precipitation. RIHA [online]. 2015, vol.36, n.1, pp. 88-101. ISSN 1680-0338.

The research was conducted in Falla town, Ciego de Avila province. A series of 30 years of rainfall and number of rainy days was analyzed from 1977 to 2006. Methods of analysis of the time series as the mean percentage, moving averages and exponential smoothing were applied. It was proven that the Normal function was the most appropriate to adjust the experimental data and the climogramfor this location was developed. Evidence of climatic change was determined by climate anomalies, movement patterns and cumulative curve of the studied variables. The main results show a trend of decreasing rainfall and number of rainy days from 2000 on, not only on an annual basis but also in the wet period.

Keywords : climate anomalies; cumulative curve; climogram; movement patterns; time series.
