Abstract

The research analyzed a series of 30 years of daily rainfall in Ciego de Avila municipality for the period 1983-2012. A number of 43800 data for the rain gauges CA-87; CA-102; CA-722 and CA-894 were considered. The results showed that the annual rainfall is 1243,5 mm and the highest values occur in June and September with 228,9 mm and 221,3 mm respectively. The predominant type of rain is the one less than 50 mm in 24 hours which occur in 86 days of the year. The wet months are from May to October, the normal from January to April and November. December is the only month with a very dry category. The average value of concentration ratio of daily precipitation is 0,64 (high).
