Abstract

DIAZ MARRERO, Miguel Ángel; CABRERA DIAZ, Ania  and  REGALON RAMOS, Claudia. Evaluation of Rusten's model in an aerated packaged filter treating Cuban raw vinasse. riha [online]. 2019, vol.40, n.2, pp. 39-49. ISSN 1680-0338.

In the present work a basic research is carried out of the treatment of raw vinasse with an aerated packed filter. Three runs are made with different organic loads in g * m-2 (packing) * d-1 (Ba) and with an air flow of 400 L * h-1. The Rusten model was adjusted with an adjusted R-square of 98,9245 %, and the values of maximum speed of reduction of the organic load (ΔBamax) and organic load were determined when ΔBa = 1/2 ΔBamax (k.). Efficiencies of reduction of chemical oxygen demand (COD) between 95 and 72% for loads between 10 and 20 g * m-2 * d-1 were obtained. The pH increased from 4,1 in the feed to values close to 8 in the effluents without addition of reagent.

Keywords : aerated packed filter; aerobic treatment; vinasse.
