Abstract

CUZA ECHEVARRIA, Lorenzo R; DEL PINO RAMOS, Yaquelín  and  PONCE GONZALEZ, Yamilet. Bioethical implications of some current biotechnological procedures. Rev. Med. Electrón. [online]. 2009, vol.31, n.5, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1684-1824.

The historical reality of the biotechnological advances based on the science has showed that the survival possibility of the human species and life in the planet depends on the responsibility the scientific community assigns to its work's results. In that sense, we expose in the current work some reflections on what it would mean an inadequate approach and usage of the techniques involving manipulation of the human genetic heritage and mechanisms related with transmission and expression of the genetic information. It finishes providing some ideas to answer the dilemma of to what extend it is ethically justified everything that is technically possible.

Keywords : BIOTECHNOLOGY [ethics]; GENETICS [ethics]; GENETIC TECHNIQUES [ethics]; BIOETHICS; PHILOSOPHY; HUMANS.
