Abstract

Science and technology, in their imperious development, burst into men's life, influencing their thoughts, interests, necessities and values. Potent scientific-technical advances become more and more productive forces, helping to satisfy men´s interests and necessities and increasing their cognitive capacity. The current work, with the objective of reinforcing the importance of ethical formation in medical sciences, explores in a particular way the most relevant events in medicine scientific-technological development and the ethical conflicts the humankind faced and faces nowadays. We also analyzed the role of high medical education in medical ethic formation. Through the bibliographic review, the authors showed that science and technology allowed to prevent and control many diseases, the diagnostic certainty and treatment of several pathologies applying knowledge for the social benefits of men. We stated that during the evolution of Medical sciences there were undue practices in human beings that violated medical ethics. We called attention to the role high medical education plays as a main step in developing this science.
