Glaucoma is one of the most important causes of blindness around the world, being the first one in Cuba. Although it regularly goes unnoticed being an excellent simulator, symptoms are generally evident. An exploratory study on the economic, psychological, and social aspects related to glaucoma was conducted, aiming at analyzing this topic to fully understand it and increase patients' quality of life. Information was obtained from bibliography available up to 2008.
