Abstract

PENA GALBAN, Liuba Y; CASAS RODRIGUEZ, Ludmila  and  MENA FERNANDEZ, Magalys. Essential concepts and characteristics of present-day psychological warfare. Rev Hum Med [online]. 2009, vol.9, n.2, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1727-8120.

We carried out a bibliographical revision to study the origin and development of present-day psychological warfare and its relationship to world socio-political affairs. Taking into account the definitions of psychological warfare, psychological operations, and fourth generation war, we explain the dialectical interrelations and differences, and describe the different phases of war up to the fourth generation. As a fundamental element, we state that conventional warfare and psychological warfare have the same goal, the occupation of countries.

Keywords : psychological warfare; psychological operations; fourth generation war; conventional warfare.
