This is the result of a research to develop the independent study of the subject Informática en Salud I, taking into account contradictions between the social pattern requirements of graduates of Nursing and the current conception of the teaching-learning process. Such requirements fail to satisfy social prospects, particularly the existing inadequacies between independent study and its necessary improvement. Alternative educational software is proposed to solve such problem.
