The objective of this paper was the characterization of human capital context, since view point international as national. This implication considers the principal tendencies about management, and the problems to confront, so as the principals challenges for Cuba. The methods used were the documental analysis and the direct observation. As results were obtained: to reiterate the methodological importance of concept human capital for Cuba, the guide meaning principals tendencies, by talent management, leadership, the HR strategic planning and the engagement, consequently with the systemic, strategist and the competencies approach; and finally were express the challenges for the country.
