Abstract

The research purpose was to design a procedure incorporated into the general methodological instrumental developed to manage the technology transfer process strategically in Ecuadorian manufacturing enterprises, specifically for small and mediums. The a forementioned allows the evaluation of new technological towards its inclusion into the technological heritage, embracing its three dimensions -technical-economic, social and environmental- as support for the associated decision-making processes with this critical business function. It is performed critical analysis of engineering and management methodologies and tools used in the assessment of technology investment projects in different contexts and scenarios, applied in SMEs Ecuadorian manufacturing, by following current legislation. As a result, an alternative solution is proposed combining the three dimensions of technology in a balanced way in a pertinent evaluation of technological options, associated with the strategic processes of technology transfer management.
