Abstract

MARTINEZ, Diana Otero; OTERO-PEREIRO, Luis-L.  and  GONZALEZ-FERNANDEZ, Vladimir. Behavior analysis of the ascending aorta artery material for modeling. Ingeniería Mecánica [online]. 2014, vol.17, n.2, pp. 108-117. ISSN 1815-5944.

There are several cardiovascular diseases affecting world population. These are determined by hemodynamic parameters changes and arterial wall behavior. A study of arterial wall tissue behavior comes to order to define its characteristics, as special elastic properties allow aorta to fulfill its function. Some of the inherent characteristics of arteries are undermine by changes on the arterial wall tissue behavior, mainly caused by the ageing. Accordingly, it is of paramount importance to get to know the aorta wall tissue structure and its significance on the future changes of the behavior of this artery.

Keywords : arterial tissue engineering; constitutive modelling; elasticity; aortic wall; characteristics of arteries.
