Abstract

MARTY-DELGADO, José Roberto; CABRERA-DELGADO, Erenia  and  ESCORIZA-MARTINEZ, Tatiana de las Mercedes. Impact of COVID-19 on formation-evaluation process at undergraduate mechanical engineering program. Ingeniería Mecánica [online]. 2021, vol.24, n.3, pp. 33-38.  Epub Nov 17, 2021. ISSN 1815-5944.

In the present work, 3 stages were analyzed in the confrontation of the sanitary crisis caused by covid-19 in the undergraduate mechanical engineering programme at Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas. A qualitative approach from a phenomenological perspective was used. Several factors favored the complexity of the educational scenario in times of pandemic, such as the availability of technological resources, connectivity, preparation for the management of different virtual tools and new communicational relationships. The results of the study showed that the diversity of responses that teachers and students produced were a laboratory of opportunities to improve the teaching process in an unprecedented scenario, where the mastery of information and communication technologies and the fluency of dialogue were central elements for success in the training and evaluation of students.
