Abstract

MUNOZ-GONZALEZ, Edisbel et al. Implementation of the Total Equipment Effectiveness indicator in a biopharmaceutical plant. Ingeniería Mecánica [online]. 2022, vol.25, n.3, pp. 27-32.  Epub Dec 20, 2022. ISSN 1815-5944.

One of the daily concerns of the productive industries is to improve their performance and seek to make their business increasingly profitable. Industries need to be more efficient every day, increasing their productivity, maximizing the performance of their equipment, reducing costs and optimizing their production processes. The objective of this research was to implement the indicator that measures the Total Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to an aseptic filling process in a Biopharmaceutical parenteral plant, based on the production information of one of the filling lines in the year 2021. From the analysis, it was obtained as a result that the OEE indicator, based on its classification, it was possible to determine that it does not comply since there was no good performance of the Performance variable during the analyzed period, due to the non-use of the capabilities of the machine in the time it was available, fundamentally caused by a decrease in demand; thus not affecting the overcompliance of the demanded production. Keywords: Total Equipment Effectiveness indicator; productivity; performance.
