Abstract

LARA COBA, Darina; HERRERA SUAREZ, Miguel  and  IGLESIAS CORONEL, Ciro E. On-the-go soil compaction sensing: review and analysis. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2011, vol.20, n.3, pp. 35-40. ISSN 2071-0054.

Given the significance of soil compaction status as one of the most important variables to develop soil management strategies, as well as the advantages associated with the use of sensors for soil compaction measurement. This paper aims to review and analyze critically the current situation of ON-The-Go soil compaction sensing. The first part is aimed at analyzing the current development of the methods used in the soil compaction sensing. Then, to analyze the characteristics of the sensors that have been developed for the soil compaction determination ( on-the-Go ). Finally, we analyzed the characteristics of the models used to correlate the sensor output data with soil compaction. The result shows the state of the art on the sensing On-the-go soil compaction.

Keywords : Soil properties; bulk density; wedge index; cone index.
