Abstract
CHAO ESPINOSA, amón; SOSAS CACERES, Roberto and DIAZ CAPDESUNER, Yasser. Water use for cleaning pens and wastewaters treatment in fattening pigs production. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2012, vol.21, n.3, pp. 69-72. ISSN 2071-0054.
A study on cleaning pens system was carry out in three pig housing from one 80 sows pig farm of Swine Research Institute, as well as wastewater treatment thru 90 m3 fixed dome digester. That study was carry out during 3 months in conditions of production. The next measures was taken: animal number and weigh; time of cleaning floor, quantity of used water and total amount of wastewater (excreta, urine and used water for cleaning). In each pig housing were: 91; 87 and 111 animals, their average weigh was 52; 56 and 72 kg respectable. The time for pens cleaning was 39;45 and 55 min. The quantity of used water was 2,28; 2,31 and 2,30 m3 and the amount of wastewater (including excreta and urine) was 2,55, 2,57 and 3,24 m3. For all theses measures was made a Varianza Test. The total amount of wastewater for the tree pig housing were 8,36 m3 and the used of water were 25,51 L per pig. The remotion of total solids, volatils solids and chemical oxigen demand were 75;79 and 62 respectibily. These results are inferiors than the others obteneid in some evaluations in diferents fixed dome digesters, There is appreciable a lot of water used in cleanming the pens, therefor it is needed a considerable volumen wastewater system and the necessary increase of material and finance of inversion.
Keywords : Water for cleaning pens; chemical oxygen demand; fixed dome digester.
