Abstract
OLIVET RODRIGUEZ, Yosvel Enrique et al. Evaluation of the ploughing up with two farming tools for the cultivation of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas Lam) in a Fluvisol. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2012, vol.21, n.4, pp. 24-29. ISSN 2071-0054.
This research work was carried out at the agricultural and livestock farm “Ranulfo Leyva Pacheco” which belongs to the enterprise of multiple cultivations “Paquito Rosales Benítez”. The feeding of national population and the reduction of imports motivate the achievement of agricultural and livestock plans all over the country. Amongst these is the production of food as a short cycle cultivation, which guarantees a sustainable production in a short period of time. The objective of this work has been to evaluate an alternative farming implement of vertical and horizontal cut to the traditional with disk plow in soil ploughing, which allows increasing productivity in a shorter period of time, reducing fuel consumption and exploitation direct expenses under the conditions of a Fluvisol. The treatments considered have been traditional soil ploughing, T1, which consisted in ploughing the soil with the (ADI-3M) disk plow, and soil ploughing, T2, which consisted in ploughing the soil with a multi-plowing machine. Treatment T2 presented the highest values of clean, operative time productivity, without any failures and exploitative and also the lowest fuel consumption (20,2 L ha-1) regarding the ploughing with disk plow with 29,2 L ha-1 under the same soil and climatic conditions, as well as less exploitation direct expense of 274,14 pesos per hectare, motivated by a 69% reduction of fuel consumption.
