Abstract

This paper presents the results of the research developed in Suchiate river basin, in the part corresponding to Guatemala, with the aim of proposing mathematical models for the estimation of hydro energetic variables that contribute to the integral use of water resources. Different types of regression models like polynomial, multiple linear and nonlinear multiple potential with two and three independent variables were obtained for the estimation of pressure pipe diameter, head losses, gross head height, net head height, the power of the turbine and the total energy produced by the hydroelectric power station. These were validated by means of the coefficient of determination and the Mean Percentage Error, reaching adequate values that allow their safe use in the design of hydroelectric plants
