Abstract

Municipal energy management is a topic that has been addressed since the 1980s with the development of models, methodologies, strategies and indicators based on energy planning, and energy supply and consumption schemes, including renewable sources of energy (RSE); and taking into account the needs to manage energy resources at territorial level. The research conducted in Cuba related to local energy management, the management of the government bodies and peculiarities that enhance energy management development, and representativeness in the national energy matrix of energy consumption in the municipal public administration, raise the need and relevance for local government bodies in Cuba to have a management system according to their characteristics and territorial needs.
