Abstract

MEDERO LLANES, Betsi Celia; VAZQUEZ CEDENO, Silvia Isabel  and  ACEVEDO PASTRANA, Bárbara. A NECESSARY REFLECTION ON EVALUATING PEDAGOGICAL PROFESSION VALUES. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2017, vol.9, n.2, pp. 115-121. ISSN 2218-3620.

UNESCO has called for the renewal of the University for Social Transformation based on value promotion. Educational practice, however, faces the challenge of evaluating the process of value formation. This paper presents, in the opinion of the authors, how to proceed in the evaluation of the aforementioned process in training of university students in pedagogical majors. The qualitative approach is assumed, as it favors reflection, criticism and innovation based on the student protagonist participation during his training, in order to apprehend the values of the pedagogic profession. It is projected from the participatory, formative and generalizing evaluation. It also shows the evaluation techniques which are applied in each phase of the process, as a result of participatory action research and its impact on the improvement of this training process. The result favors teacher change towards a flexible mentality which involves the student in actions and the decision making for facing professional problems. Thus, it makes possible the transformation in its modes of action and contributes to the pedagogical personality formation.

Keywords : Values; evaluation; pedagogical profession; conception.
