FERNANDEZ PAZMINO, Sandra Karolina; VILELA PINCAY, Wilson Exson  and  DURAN OCAMPO, Armando Rogelio. Multicultural dimension in the code of childhood and adolescence from an educational perspective. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2019, vol.11, n.1, pp. 208-217.  Epub Mar 02, 2019. ISSN 2218-3620.

This article aims to characterize the multicultural dimension from an educational perspective in the Childhood and Adolescence Code. The methodological strategy responds to a descriptive investigation of bibliographical type review with qualitative approach, systematized by the methods: historical-logical, documentary and hermeneutic analysis, and the technique of content analysis. The findings show the contextualization of this dimension in the legal framework of the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador, revealing its multicultural character. However, the analysis of the results of recent research shows the existence of asymmetries between discourse and praxis, evidenced by the limitations in the curricula, the absence of particular methodologies, the reductionist educational practice of the indigenous that does not allow the realization of intercultural and plurinational integration in education, to ensure recognition and respect for the diversity of cultures, peoples and nationalities that conform Ecuador.

Keywords : Multiculturalism; interculturality; education; childhood; adolescence.
