Abstract
SEVERINO GONZALEZ, Pedro and MEDINA GIACOMOZZI, Alex. Scandals in the media. Cases of lack of ethics of Chilean companies. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2019, vol.11, n.1, pp. 257-264. Epub Mar 02, 2019. ISSN 2218-3620.
The decisions made in a company circulate ever closer to the frontier of ethics, as they sometimes disrupt the incorrect, driven by a hegemonic bloc that conceives profit generation as the only responsibility. In recent decades, Chile has undergone momentous changes, events that have affected the economic, social and cultural development of the nation, leaving behind the consideration of being a country with less corruption in Latin America. The purpose of this research is to identify cases of non-compliance with the ethics of Chilean companies, for this purpose, a review has been developed through descriptors in digital public communication media during a 10-year period, about situations that have occurred in companies and that fall within the scope of unethical facts. The unfair competition factor is the one that brings together the greatest number of breaches of ethics by Chilean companies, followed closely by the cumulative frequency of the collusion factor.
