Abstract

This article is related to improving tourism through new expectations of tourist attraction, strengthening the economic level of the inhabitants and of this protected area that has a unique flora and fauna located in the province of Guayas, city of Guayaquil recognized as Santay Island National Recreation Area. A field study was conducted to know the needs of the place, the inhabitants, and tourists who visit the Island, resulting in the Santay Island lacks of tourism alternatives that allow increasing the number of visitors, improving the quality of life of the inhabitants and the site, since tourism is the main source of income for the inhabitants. In which the applied methodology was used, starting by presenting the type of qualitative research. The general objective of the research is to develop alternative entrepreneurship strategies, such as actions to be developed for the growth of tourism. In order to achieve this, it is necessary to generate new expectations for tourists through possible alternative ventures. Also, how to apply strategies to improve economic and tourist income in Santay Island. And finally, the execution of the alternative venture carrying out the creation of a viewpoint on Santay Island.
