Abstract

This article responds to a bibliographic review study, which has the purpose of analyzing the theoretical foundations of the construction of national identity from the teaching of History; it is based on the methods of content, hermeneutical, exegetical and logical historical analysis. Among the main findings are the contribution of History to the promotion of a sense of belonging, to the construction of the collective memory of the nation and to the development of identity values as a tribute to the construction of the national identity of Ecuadorians.
