Abstract
RIVERA DOMINGUEZ, Oseiby; GUZMAN MIRANDA, Omar and CABALLERO RODRIGUEZ, Tamara. The socialization of the autistic child from a sociological perspective. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2024, vol.16, n.1, pp. 276-288. Epub Feb 28, 2024. ISSN 2218-3620.
The perspective of analysis of the socialization process of the autistic child marks the technical way in which the phenomenon is intervened from pedagogy, psychology, social work or sociology. The purpose of the research was to analyze some keys within this process: the communicative channel, the operative group, the educator's education, the spectrum of socialization in the face of autism, the transition from restricted to extended experiences and the communicative platform. Thus, the main result emerges is a social approach that integrates these components in terms of the social development of the autistic. This implies that socialization in the face of autism is a process of self-organization with intrinsic properties that are not reduced or deduced to its constituent parts: actors (autistic, non-autistic, collective actors) that interact with each other through mediating structures (means of communication given in language and previous experiences symbolically generalized into words or other vehicles that carry meaning).
