Abstract

PEREZ-GARRIDO, Neyda et al. EVALUATION OF MYCOTOXIN RESIDUALS AND ITS ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS (PART I). RTQ [online]. 2011, vol.31, n.1, pp. 1-7. ISSN 2224-6185.

The increasing industrial and urban development has resulted in the appearance of an appreciable amount of toxic chemicals, which affect both human health and the ecosystems. The work provides a physical-chemistry of liquid waste generated by the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry TOXIMED containing mycotoxins and is dumped untreated into the environment, in order to infer the residual effect of mycotoxins may have on the ecosystem. The measurement of different physical-chemical parameters was made through the International Standard 27/1999. From the results, we conclude that from the standpoint of physicochemical total solids and dissolved oxygen were those that showed the degree of residual contamination. This clearly demonstrates that the residuals obtained in the art of mycotoxins are toxic to both aquatic and for the land so they must be treated to be dumped.

Keywords : mycotoxins; environmental pollution; waste waters; characterization.
