Abstract

Based on the postulates and contributions of different authors, the text reflects the cultural nature of communication as a fundamental human process, as a scientific discipline and as a professional field. Starting from cardinal contributions to its conceptualization, communication is approached as from culture, understanding communication as a space for the production of senses and the process of resemanting the social, which implies conceiving it as part of a much broader process that gives rise to that modifies it.
