Abstract

JARDON HERNANDEZ, Ana Elizabeth  and  HERNANDEZ LARA, Itzel. Notions about the Contemporary Non-Voluntary Migrant Return. Voluntary and Forced Returns in Times of Crisis. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2019, vol.7, n.1, pp. 248-272.  Epub Sep 01, 2019. ISSN 2308-0132.

This paper analyses the modalities of migrant return: voluntary, forced and assisted. From a critical reflection of these concepts we expose the complexity to understand the contemporary migrant return in a context of crisis and anti-immigrant violence, where the returns combine a set of diverse circumstances that expresses the vague border between the voluntary and the involuntary character of these movements. This document exposes the dynamics and the socio demographic profile of returned population in municipalities from the South of Estado de México and we take a singular case to go in depth in the experiences of these returned migrants.

Keywords : voluntary return; forced return; involuntarily; México.
