Abstract

GIL RODRIGUEZ, Alfredo Luis; PELL DEL RIO, Silvia Miriam  and  VALDES SANTIAGO, Damian. Diagnosis of How Hazardous Chemicals Are Handled by the Self-Employed from two Districts in Havana, Cuba. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2020, vol.8, n.1  Epub Apr 14, 2020. ISSN 2308-0132.

Environmental laws currently in force in Cuba also deal with small business-related activities which could damage the environment, and cause harm to human health, if they are not performed properly. The production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services including hazardous chemicals can be harmful, which is why it is necessary to make a diagnosis of how these are handled in order to suggest preventive and corrective action, so that environmental management, and health and safety in small businesses can be improved. This paper presents the diagnosis of how hazardous chemicals are handled in small businesses in the districts of Tamarindo and Luyanó in the municipality of Diez de Octubre, province of La Habana.

Keywords : checklist; hazardous chemicals; small business.
