Abstract

GARCIA VIAMONTES, Diosveni  and  CARBONELL VARGAS, Manuel Silverio. Gender Stereotypes. A Study in Adolescents. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2023, vol.11, n.1  Epub Mar 01, 2023. ISSN 2308-0132.

An analysis is made of the most relevant scientific conceptions in the study of gender stereotypes. A dimensional structure for the study of gender stereotypes is suggested, based on the theoretical-practical systematization of the results of previous studies; although, basically, the criterion of the authors of this research is assumed. Through the use of a quantitative and qualitative methodology, gender stereotypes were characterized in a sample of 167 adolescents belonging to the Urban Pre-university Institute Gerardo Rodríguez Arias. Finally, based on the results obtained, an intervention action proposal was designed to “dismantle” gender stereotypes in the adolescents of this educational institution.

Keywords : gender stereotypes; dismantling; interventive action.
