Abstract

This article is a partial result of a research carried out in Cuba with the intention of describing particularities of audiovisual consumption of first childhood. From a dialectical materialism, as a main method, an exhaustive bibliographic search is carried out, supported by scientific methods such as analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive and documentary analysis. As results, are exposed some theoretical considerations that allow contributing to make first childhood visible in social research on audiovisual consumption. It also provides a starting theoretical reference in the training processes of professionals in charge of education in this stage of life. It serves to declare audiovisual consumption in early childhood as an activity that influences psychic development and requires responsible mediation to be a developer.
