Abstract

ALFONSO OLIVERA, Rachel; CABRUJA UBACH, Teresa  and  PIPER SHAFIR, Isabel. The Collective Memory of Literacy as a Place of Agency to Rethink being a Woman in the Cuban Revolution. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2023, vol.11, n.3  Epub Dec 01, 2023. ISSN 2308-0132.

This article is an alternative to historiography and official narratives, in which a masculine narrative has predominated, that is, the allusion to the great stories associated with the armed conflict or the heroic actions of great men. This is an investigation that aims to understand the ways in which, from the collective memories of literate Cuban women, the narratives of the Revolution are reproduced and changed around literacy and being a woman in the Cuban Revolution.

Keywords : collective memory; gender; women; agency; Cuban Revolution.
