Abstract

For the geographical location of the area under study, Playa Cajío, Güira de Melena municipality, Artemisa province; The mangroves have suffered serious alterations, mainly due to global climate changes, especially sea level rise, hurricanes and storms, which have caused severe sea penetrations, as well as prolonged droughts. The present investigation had as starting point four fundamental studies carried out, as main antecedents, following as a general objective, proposing actions aimed at the restoration of the mangrove of the «El Cajío» sector, based on an integral program (water rehabilitation project, reforestation, monitoring and control, vulnerability). To do this, theoretical methods of documentary research were used, as well as in situ diagnosis, as the first descriptive stage that demonstrated the state of deterioration of the forest, in a second stage or integral management, the water rehabilitation and mitigation projects were elaborated. sources that affect the good development of the mangrove, reforestation and monitoring and control, all with community participation and involved organisms, culminating with the reforestation and the success of it. In addition, vulnerability studies were carried out in the area, which places it in a medium to high position.
