Abstract

PEREIRA RIVERON, Ramiro; FERNANDEZ BENITEZ, Susana A; DE JONGH COBO, Enrique  and  ROIG FABRE, Esteban. Manejo de los traumatismos craneales por cirujanos, médicos generales y anestesiólogos. Rev Cubana Cir [online]. 1997, vol.36, n.3, pp. 172-177. ISSN 1561-2945.

Patients with cranioencephalic traumatisms are also received at the polyclinics and hospitals without neurosurgery service. An efficient attention of basic respiratory and circulatory reanimation and immobilization should be given to severe patients before referring them to the neurotrauma service. Those with mild and moderate injuries may be attended at their health areas. Suggestions for their classification and management are offered and the need of a centrally standardized system to try to reduce the elevated mortality and the permanent sequelae of the severe traumatized is discussed
