Abstract

RODRIGUEZ SILVA, Gladys  and  NORIEGA RODRIGUEZ, Daniel Rodolfo. Estudio del síndrome posflebítico en 30 pacientes quemados. Rev Cubana cir [online]. 1999, vol.38, n.2, pp. 95-98. ISSN 1561-2945.

30 cases that suffered from burns in the lower limbs, independently of the cause, and that presented edema, pain and ulcers (postphlebitic syndrome) in the affected limb were studied. The presence of this syndrome was proved by imaging study (anterograde phlebography), which allowed us to say that the postphlebitic syndrome is an immediate complication of burns secondary to venous thrombosis that appear much more frequently than what is thought, and that should be detected on time, since once it occurs it is irreversible. Measures aimed at preventing this syndrome in patients with burns are recomended

Keywords : BURNS [complications]; POSTPHLEBITIC SYNDROME [etiology]; LEG; PHLEBOGRAPHY [methods].
