Abstract

LEAL MURSULI, Armando et al. Neumoperitoneo espontáneo no quirúrgico: Un dilema diagnóstico. Rev Cubana cir [online]. 1999, vol.38, n.2, pp. 106-108. ISSN 1561-2945.

Nonsurgical spontaneous pneumoperitoneum is a rarely seen condition in daily medical practice. Generally, its appearance implies an unnecessary surgical procedure, due to its difficult diagnosis, mainly in a traumatized patient. A patient with this affection is presented and emphasis is made on the physiopathology as well as on the different diagnostic aids that may be used in this situation. Explorative laparotomy is recommended as the last resource in those cases that are very difficult to diagnose

Keywords : PNEUMOPERITONEUM [radiography]; PNEUMOPERITONEUM [surgery]; HEAD INJURIES [complications]; ACCIDENTS, TRAFFIC.
