A pattern group of 30 patients operated on of the middle ear and mastoid at the Dr. "Gustavo Aldereguía" Provincial Clinical and Surgical Teaching Hospital of Cienfuegos, in 1982, is analyzed. The clinical and audiometric evolution 15 years after the operation is shown. Most of the failures occurred before the fifth year and specially during the first year. Comments were made on some parameters of the group before surgery, such as age, place of origin, characteristics of otorrhea and tympanic perforation, sate of the tympanic cavity, most frequent germs and associated affections that may exert a negative influence on the evolutions that may exert a negative influence on the evolution of the disease. The best clinical and audiometric results were observed in type I and type IV tympanplasties and the worst in types II and III due to rejection of the PORP and TORP prothetheses of polyethylene and lysis or expulsion of the autoclastic bone graft in the course of time
