Abstract
RODRIGUEZ RODRIGUEZ, Ibrahím; SOLIS CHAVEZ, Santiago Luis; RODRIGUEZ LOPEZ-CALLEJAS, Carlos Arturo and MARTINEZ PORTUONDO, Ana Ivonne. Vagotomía altamente selectiva en la úlcera duodenal estenosante. Rev Cubana Cir [online]. 2002, vol.41, n.1, pp. 16-22. ISSN 1561-2945.
The results of highly selective vagotomy (HSV) with duodenoplasty or pyloroplasty were evaluated in 38 patients with stenosis secondary to duodenal ulcer at "Dr. Carlos J. Finlay" Central Military Hospital during 8 years. 20 patients underwent HSV plus duodenoplasty and 18 HSV plus pyloroplasty. There were 31 men and 7 women. The postoperative follow-up was of 42 months as an average (range 3-96). No transoperative complications were observed. 18 patients had postoperative complications, but 89 % of them disappeared before the third month. There was no relapse either of the ulcer or of the stenosis. No deaths were reported. The results were satisfactory in 94.7 % of the cases (Visick degree I, 76.3 %; Visick degree II, 18.4 %)
