The multiple considerations necessary to evaluate the anesthetic treatment in the newborns and infants at high anesthetic risk during the surgical procedures are dealt with in this bibliographic review. These little patients require surveillance and intensive treatment in the perioperative and even later. A close communication and cooperation among pediatricians, anesthesiologists, pediatric surgeons and intensive care specialists is also necessary to attain good results
