Digital and  nipple suction, rest lingual interposition, and in deglutition, as well as during mouth respiration, are harmful habits interfering in regular pattern of facial growing, and may produce dento-maxillofacial anomalies. A cross study was conducted to determine presence of deforming oral habits and influence of these on post-lactic plan. Sample included 28 543 children have turned 3-5 years, from which we selected a sample of 300 children seen in family physician and nurse consulting room of San Antonio de los Baños, Santa Cruz del Norte y Mariel municipalities. More prevalent habit was nipple suction, representing 49% of all the children with these habits (200), followed by moth respiration (39%), and lingual interposition in deglutition (38,5). We found a close relationship among deforming oral habits and presence of a unfavourable distal step at level of temporal second molars, specially the habits of lingual interposition in deglutition and in rest.
