SAEZ CARRIERA, Rolando et al. Behaviour of toxic habtis in a group of patients attended at the Faculty of Stomatology. Rev Cubana Estomatol [online]. 2007, vol.44, n.4, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-297X.
In order to know the behaviour of toxic habits, an observational descriptive study was conducted in 100 patients that received attention at the Faculty of Stomatology in March, 2006. 2 instruments were used: a questionnaire made according to the ends of the investigation, and a questionnaire of diagnostic indicators (QDI). There was a predominance of females over males in the study group, where a high educational level was observed. Knowledge of legal drugs (coffee, tobacco and alcohol) was inadequate in most of the patients. Alcohol, tobacco and coffee were the most consumed toxics in our study group. The majority of the surveyed began to consume toxics when they were 15-20 years old, and amusement was the most frequent reason to start the consumption. In our study there was a predominance of the group of risk consumers over the social consumers.
