The theme of drug surveillance is approached, and for this purpose, publications appeared in five Cuban medical journals were selected; these articles suggested a certain relation with drugs adverse reactions. The common characteristics, and the differences of such articles, are described, emphasizing in the development possibilities of drug surveillance, an item that is a necessity in our country, where drug production and marketing is an objective reality. Methods for the stimulation of the medical staff in search for drugs adverse reactions, are suggested.
