Abstract
FARIAS DOMINGUEZ, Yaimí; SIJO YERO, Mariela and VALDES DIEZ, Lilliam. Aplicación de un método estadístico en la optimización de un reactivo para química clínica. Rev Cubana Farm [online]. 1997, vol.31, n.2, pp. 91-95. ISSN 1561-2988.
With the aim of determining the best combination for the concentrations of the components of the alkaline reagent kit for the determination of serum urea, the method of Box and Wilson was employed which constitutes a very used statistical treatment to look for optimum conditions in an experimental plan. Factors subjected to analysis were the concentrations of sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite. The criteria for an optimal combination of the components is the maximum of the response variable, which in this case is the absorbance. Experimental results were assessed through this method, and the extreme point of the proposed mathematical model was determined: Thus, the combination for concentrations of 112 and 4.6 mmol/L was obtained for sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite, respectively, which constitutes the best variant of the alkaline reagent in the study carried out.
