Abstract

A physical and neurologic examination was performed in 112 apparently healthy subjects, aged 60 or more. Folstein's minimal examinations of mental functions was administered in order to study neurological signs of normal aeging. More relevant findings were determined: posture and gait disturbances, action tremor of hands, Achille's arrheflexy, distal apalestesia in legs, hypoacusia, and decrease of visual aquiti. Results of minimal examination of mental functions, were influenced by increasing age. Average value was of 26.4 points. Major affections were related to attention, calculation, and evoked memory
